Summer seems like it’s right around the corner, except when it doesn’t. Here in the Pacific Northwest, it can take some false starts before summer decides to commit and stay for a while. That makes for a range of interesting days, interesting foliage, and interesting wildlife.

I’ve been looking to the skies more this week, noticing the avian life in my neighborhood. There is a fascinating world of birds living their lives along side us, largely unseen.

There is nothing quite like walking out into the bay. Walking through ankle deep water for miles and miles and looking back at land the way a harbor seal might. It lends perspective.
